GSC Pilot Draws to a Close
Posted by Jeff Kupperman on Monday, May 10, 2004 at 16:20:00 EST
The GSC initial pilot session has ended! We expect one late submission in the Environment category, but otherwise the first GSC platform is complete, with several resolutions in the categories of Education and Media/Information. We are bringing all the submitted resolutions to the international diplomatic community, and primary authors may be contacted within the next few months to talk about next steps.
Meanwhile, we are working on changes to the GSC website that will allow more flexibility in the creation, submission, and revision of resolutions. The GSC will restart officially in September.
Thank you all who have participated so far, and we hope to see you again in a few months!
Voting on "Education" Ends
Posted by Jeff Kupperman on Monday, April 26, 2004 at 07:22:00 EST
Voting has been completed for the Education topic. Final results can be seen by following the link to view the "entire working platform," in the Platform area. Since many resolutions were of high quality, we are submitting them all to the GSC Diplomatic Advisory board for review. Lead authors may be contacted by Advisory Board members in the next few months. Congratulations on a great set of resolutions!
Meanwhile, voting continues on the Media and Information topic at the international level, where two resolutions are open for discussion. In addition, the Environment topic is open for submissions, with voting and discussion at the regional level.
Environment Chosen as Third Agenda Topic
Posted by Jeff Kupperman on Thursday, April 08, 2004 at 11:15:00 EST
"Environment" has been chosen as the third agenda topic. This is clearly a topic that affects everyone -- and one that needs international coordination if we are to do anything. Young people will bear the long-term costs of whatever we do, or don't do, about the global environment, so this is a topic that really needs some good resolutions. Write them in your workspace, and submit them to a "regional" vote. As always, winning resolutions from each country will go to a GSC-wide vote.
Join the Discussion!

Just a reminder that discussion is now open on the final vote for an Education resolution (in the Platform area), as well as the next agenda decision (in the Agenda area). Also, resolutions can be submitted to your region on the topic of "Media and Information." Don't just vote -- let your voice be heard!
Note that the schedule has been modified -- see the listings at left.
Education topic now in international voting phase
Posted by Jeff Kupperman on Sunday, March 14, 2004 at 09:21:00 EST
Education has now moved to the international voting phase. Winners from each region that had submitted resolutions to the Education topic are now listed in the Platform area under the Education topic. Please make sure to vote, and most importantly, join the DISCUSSION in order to choose which resolution should become part of the GSC platform. Voting and discussion will be open until March 27.
(If you do not see an Education resolution from your region but you think there should be one there, please contact me right away at jkupp@umich.edu.)
You can still submit resolutions on the "Media and Information" topic to a regional vote until March 27.
